Content Review Policy (CRP)
1. Purpose
The Content Review Policy (CRP) of Goa Human Rights Commission establishes a structured framework for the periodic review of all content published on the website to ensure it remains accurate, current, relevant, consistent, and compliant with applicable standards. Regular review prevents the website from carrying outdated, misleading, or obsolete information.
2. Scope
This policy applies to every piece of content published on the website — static pages, dynamic content, documents, multimedia, downloadable files, data sets, and third-party integrated content.
3. Objectives
- Ensure all published content is accurate and up-to-date.
- Identify content that requires updating, archival, or removal.
- Maintain consistency in language, tone, and formatting across the website.
- Verify continued compliance with accessibility, legal, and organizational standards.
- Ensure all hyperlinks — internal and external — remain valid and active.

5. Content Review Workflow
- Scheduling: The Web Information Manager maintains a review calendar based on the frequencies above.
- Notification: Reviewers are notified in advance of upcoming review cycles.
- Review: Reviewers examine content for accuracy, currency, relevance, grammar, formatting, accessibility, and link integrity.
- Action Recommendation: The reviewer marks content for one of the following actions:
- Retain — content is current and accurate.
- Update — content requires revisions.
- Archive — content is outdated and should move to the archive per the Content Archival Policy.
- Remove — content is no longer relevant and must be taken down.
- Execution: Required changes pass through the CMAP workflow (Contribution → Moderation → Approval) before publication.
- Documentation: A record of the review — date, reviewer, outcome, actions taken — is maintained in the CMS audit log.
6. Review Criteria Checklist
During every review, the following parameters shall be evaluated:
- Accuracy: All facts, figures, and statements are correct and verifiable.
- Currency: The content reflects the latest available information.
- Relevance: The content continues to serve the intended purpose and audience.
- Completeness: All necessary information is present; no gaps or missing sections.
- Clarity: Language is simple, unambiguous, and audience-appropriate.
- Consistency: Terminology, formatting, and tone match the organizational style guide.
- Accessibility: Complies with WCAG 2.1 AA — alt text, headings, contrast, keyboard navigation, etc.
- Link Integrity: All internal and external hyperlinks are active and point to the correct destinations.
- Metadata: Title tags, descriptions, and publication/update dates are accurate.
- Legal Compliance: Content complies with applicable laws, copyright, and intellectual property rights.
- Multilingual Parity: Where applicable, all language versions carry equivalent and accurate content.
7. Link Verification
Broken link detection shall be run on the website on a monthly basis using automated tools. Results shall be reviewed, and broken links shall be fixed, replaced, or removed within seven working days.
8. Roles and Responsibilities
- Reviewer: Assesses content against the review criteria and recommends actions.
- Content Owner: Implements revisions based on review feedback.
- Web Information Manager: Maintains the review schedule, tracks compliance, ensures timely action.
- Approving Authority: Approves changes arising from the review process.
9. Non-Compliance
Failure to conduct scheduled reviews shall be escalated to the Web Information Manager and, if unresolved, to the competent authority. Delayed reviews shall be rescheduled within 30 days and documented.
10. Policy Review
This policy shall be reviewed every 12 months or earlier if required by changes in technology, law, or organizational priorities.
