Lodge Complaint / Track Status

Any victim, or any person on his or her behalf, may make a complaint to the Goa Human Rights Commission alleging a violation of human rights, or abetment thereof, or negligence in the prevention of such violation by a public servant. The Commission may also take up a matter on its own initiative (suo motu).

Who can file a complaint

  • The aggrieved person (the victim) directly.
  • Any other person or organisation on behalf of the victim.
  • The Commission itself, suo motu, on the basis of information received.

What to include in your complaint

  • Your name, address and contact details.
  • The name and designation of the public servant or authority complained against, if known.
  • A clear, dated account of the incident and the human right alleged to be violated.
  • Copies of any supporting documents or evidence.
  • Details of any complaint already made to another authority on the same matter.

How to lodge your complaint

Complaints may be lodged online, or submitted in writing by post or in person at the office of the Commission. There is no fee for filing a complaint.
